classic Meets modern in the heart of pilseN

Monnie Burke’s serves New American plates and inventive craft cocktails in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. The elegant and spacious interior is accompanied by one of the largest patios in Chicago, which is privately tucked between buildings. The menu utilizes seasonal ingredients to create bold and unexpected flavors, and the cuisine is complemented by a thoughtfully curated and ever-rotating craft beer, wine and cocktail list. Our cocktail program is part culinary driven and part modern mixology, with some roots tying back to the classics.

Who Is Monnie Burke?

We are family-owned and our concept is inspired by a beloved aunt — Monnie Burke — who was adored by her many nieces and nephews. Monnie was warm and open with classic style and a sense of adventure. She had a big impact on our lives and represents our core values -- warm, welcoming and inclusive. Monnie was the first person that owners Margi and Anan Abu-Taleb told of their engagement years ago, and her response was "Love is here to stay." We created Monnie Burke's to honor her and all the love she brought to our family and others. She had a very special ability to make all feel welcome, and at Monnie Burke’s, we strive to do the same.

The Monnie Burke’s brand was based around old family photos and highlight moments of Monnie’s life through illustration. She’s seen staring out over Lake Michigan, at her desk at Loyola University, and sunning on the beach.
